A Trusted Name
in Dermal Fillers
SoVous
SoVous offers our patients in NYC Juvederm, a collection of dermal fillers including Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Vollure and Juvederm Voluma. Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can add volume to the cheeks and face and refresh your look.
The Juvederm collection of dermal fillers is perhaps the most trusted name in hyaluronic acid-based cosmetic injectables. This family of products includes specially designed formulas to treat a multitude of issues, and areas of the face and body. The high hyaluronic acid content found in Juvederm products promotes skin health, retains moisture, and delivers long-lasting results.
One of the naturally occurring substances our body produces that helps to deliver and maintain volume within our skin is Hyaluronic Acid (commonly referred to in the industry as HA).
Juvederm is a gel made up of a modified type of HA that can be injected beneath your skin, adding volume to your chin, your lips, the nasolabial folds, and marionette lines without any surgery whatsoever. This process also temporarily restores volume loss beneath the surface of your skin and can be performed in minutes.
The product line offers several HA fillers with different formulas to cater to various needs. The product contains proprietary Hylacross technology, which is similar to bed springs in a mattress, making it more firm or thick as the HA becomes more cross-linked.
The softest of the HA fillers is in the form of a cross-linked cohesive gel. Its proprietary Hylacross technology is similar to bedsprings in a mattress, the more springs you have the more firm the mattress is, and thus, the more cross-linked the HA the more thick or firm it is.
Juvederm Ultra is a great choice for lip plumping due to its innate softness, whereas Juvederm Ultra Plus is better for areas of deeper folds requiring more firm lifting of tissues due to its higher level of cross-linking. Juvederm Ultra can last between 6 and 9 months on average (individual results may vary).

One of the more robust and versatile HA fillers, this cohesive gel is slightly more cross-linked than Juvederm Ultra which is what makes it more viscous and slightly longer-lasting.
Juvederm Ultra Plus is a great choice for filling in the nasolabial folds and marionette lines of the lower face due to this greater level of cross-linking. This feature allows it to lift more efficiently in areas that are subject to breakdown by dynamic movements.

Juvederm Volbella XC injectable gel is primarily for lip injection. Volbella is injected with an ultrathin needle directly into the lips, plumping the lips and getting rid of so-called “lipstick lines” or perioral lines that form in the lips. Results can last for between 6 and 12 months.

Juvederm Vollure XC is all about smoothness. Vollure is injected into areas where we commonly get moderate to severe wrinkles, like the “marionette lines” around the nose and mouth. Vollure corrects these lines and its long-lasting formula means results can stick around for up to 12 months with proper treatment.

Juvederm Voluma XC is designed to add volume to the chin and cheeks, as well as other areas where volume loss occurs with age. Voluma is all about staying power. With proper application, the volume boost from Voluma can last longer than other dermal fillers of its kind.

All formulas are available in XC versions that contain lidocaine to reduce pain during the injection process. Juvederm Ultra can last between six and nine months, while other formulas can last up to 12 months with proper treatment.
If you are an adult who is noticing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, or hollowing in the face and hands, Juvederm may be right for you. Our New York Juvederm specialists are dermal filler aficionados and will help guide you through the selection process, so you can relax and be sure you’ve found the right product for your needs.
As a dermal filler, Juvederm primarily adds volume and definition to areas of the face: particularly around the lips and midface. These fillers can address aesthetic concerns in the following areas:
Juvederm can also address certain scars, like acne scars, by filling in recesses in certain areas. In each case, you can expect to see results immediately the will continue to improve over time.
Juvederm is a noninvasive procedure, meaning that there is no surgery required. A standard procedure can take as little as 15 minutes or up to an hour, depending on how many injections are being performed or the location of the area being treated. While you might feel a slight pricking sensation with each injection, the process is not intended to be painful, nor is it typically considered as such.
Following injections with Juvederm NYC patients can see results immediately due to the nature of the solution, which is composed of a gel made from hyaluronic acid, which works to fill in wrinkles from beneath your skin. The results of this procedure are often present immediately, have no recovery time necessary, and, depending on one’s body and the application site, can last for up to two years.
Typically, Juvederm is injected in areas where you want more volume. This could be in the midface region, along the chin, or in the hands. A typical syringe contains one mL of product, so the amount you would need to appropriately address your concerns is dependent on the treatment you get.
In this scenario, we would make strategic injections throughout the midface to improve facial symmetry and youthful contours. 4-10 syringes.
Injections around the wrinkles reduce their visibility by adding volume beneath the skin. 1-2 syringes per area.
Juvederm can add volume to the brow and reduce sagging and signs of aging above the eyes. 1 syringe.
With Juvederm, you get fuller, more supple, pouty lips and address signs of aging like smoker’s lines. 1-2 syringes.
Juvederm can add youthful volume and fill in hollow areas. 2-6 syringes.
Tactical application of Juvederm can reduce the visibility of smile lines and other fine lines. 1-2 syringes.
Adding Juvederm along the chin and jawline can make the jawline appear ber and more even, while reducing signs of aging and jowls. 2-4 syringes.
Juvederm can reduce the visibility of hollowed out areas by the temples, resulting in a more youthful and balanced look. 2-4 syringes.
Juvederm is designed for adults and is not intended to resolve any underlying medical conditions. There are a variety of volumizing solution formulas, each intended to treat different types of wrinkles in adults. Choosing which Juvederm solution to go with depends largely on the results you are looking for. Our NYC Juvederm experts are ready to discuss your aesthetic goals and establish a tailored treatment plan to meet them.
When it comes to adding volume to one’s lips, the two main Juvederm formulas are Ultra XC and Volbella XC. Ultra XC focuses on adding volume to your lips, whereas Volbella XC is primarily directed towards lip lines and wrinkles around your mouth.
It is also possible to use Voluma to treat volume loss under your eyes, whereas Voluma XC would be ideal for plumping up your cheeks and to help give the skin a bit of a lift in that area. Vollure XC would be ideal for treating the lines extending around your nose and mouth, those that are often called marionette lines, or parentheses. Products can be layered for more profound effects.
A smile is universal - a key part of our human body language understood by anyone. It can be an invitation for a conversation, a silly face for the family photo, a gesture of kindness shared with a passerby, or even the perfect flirtatious glance to a companion over dinner and a drink.
With the grace of age and a life well-lived, sometimes our skin tends to carry the weight of our happiness. Wrinkles, fine lines, and the loss of the elasticity our cheeks once had can often make us feel as if we look older than we feel inside.
While age and grace are nothing to be ashamed of, it is only natural to want to revitalize our skin and give our smiles the perfect frame again - ready to dazzle when the right moment arrives.
Different gauged needles will be selected for different treatment areas based on the delicacy of the skin in that area.
A topical anesthetic may be applied before injection; however, the treatment is quite tolerable on its own since it is infused with lidocaine powder. This has been shown to decrease patient discomfort by 90% on its own. Your skin will be cleaned and prepped before injection. Ice may then be applied to further reduce discomfort.
You might experience minor swelling and bruising immediately after treatment. This is normal and usually resolves on its own. You should refrain from exercising for 24 hours after your treatment to decrease the risk of increased bruising or swelling. You should also avoid rubbing or touching the treatment area, and avoid applying makeup. Other than that, you are free to resume normal activities following your treatment.
While you will see results immediately after treatment, it can often take a few weeks for your final results to form. Because hyaluronic acid stimulates collagen production, you’ll notice your results continue to look great (and, in some cases, even improve!) for months after your treatment. Typical results last between 8 months and a year, depending on the type of filler used and the location. In some cases, results can still be seen a year or longer after treatment.
How Often Should I Get Juvederm?
You will want to schedule touch-up treatments at least once a year to preserve your results, depending on the treatment location and how quickly your body processes Juvederm.
The average cost of Juvederm is about $1,000 per syringe. However, the final cost will depend on the location and type of treatment you want and the skill of the injector doing the procedure. It’s always best to choose a location and an aesthetic expert that is highly experienced and trained in fillers, like the aesthetic specialists at SoVous.
Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, while Botox is a neurotoxin. While Botox addresses wrinkles caused by repeat movement through releasing the muscles that cause them, Juvederm uses its filler product to smooth the area by adding volume beneath the skin. Each has its place, and our aesthetic experts will help you figure out the best combination of treatments to ensure your optimal results.
While Restylane and Juvederm are both HA dermal fillers, they have different formulations and specialties. Typically, Juvederm lasts a little longer than Restylane, and thus, tends to be more expensive. During your consultation, we will compare the effectiveness of each filler as well as the cost so you can get a good idea of the pros and cons of each treatment.
During your consultation for Juvederm New York Master Injectors will help you determine which filler is best for you. If you are a pregnant and lactating women should avoid its use as it has not been studied on such populations. You should not have treatment if you have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or a history or presence of multiple severe allergies. Juvederm Ultra should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins. Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus XC should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to lidocaine.
