What Is Xeomin?

Xeomin is a one-stop treatment for everything from facial wrinkles to muscle stiffness. It can make you feel younger inside and out.

Both Xeomin and Botox are made from Botulinum toxin type A, but Xeomin contains a “naked” form of botulinum toxin, which is designed to deliver it without any protein additives. This means your body can keep accepting treatments over time. That’s right - Xeomin was designed specifically with you and your body in mind.

Additional Reading

  • Xeomin treats facial wrinkles, including frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles.
  • Xeomin is also used to treat people suffering from several disorders, including Upper Limb Spasticity, Adult Blepharospasm, Cervical Dystonia, and Chronic Sialorrhea.
  • Xeomin comes in the form of liquid prescription medicine that your doctor injects into either your muscles or glands for treatment, depending on your specific issue.
  • Xeomin can also be used to treat children ages 2-17 years of age for muscle stiffness in their arms due to upper limb spasticity.

What Happens When You Use Xeomin?

Lisa Chevalier - SoVous Med Spa New York

Xeomin is a non-invasive and convenient way to treat cosmetic issues. Not only has it been proven effective, according to multiple studies, Xeomin has also been found to work longer than Botox and Dysport.

Xeomin acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, Xeomin can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as spasms caused by spasticity.

During treatment, which usually takes about 10-20 minutes, your doctor will inject Xeomin into the affected muscles. No anesthesia is required; however, your physician may use a topical anesthetic or cold pack to reduce any discomfort.

Depending on your particular course of treatment, results from using Xeomin will affect individuals differently. You may begin to experience effects as early as 3-4 days after injection.
