Let Yourself Shine Through
Let Yourself Shine Through
SoVous offers our New York City Microdermabrasion patients a refreshed look through a non-surgical procedure for renewing overall skin tone and texture. You are always growing as a person, and it shows in your personality throughout your entire life. Changing and evolving is a beautiful thing, but your face can also show physical signs of our changes.
Skin can dry out, leaving its tone appearing dull, the texture left feeling rough. As age spots begin to appear, and sun damage and light wrinkles add up, it can be hard to feel as beautiful as you were last year. However, with microdermabrasion treatments at SoVous Med Spa New York City, these skin blemishes can be easily treated via a procedure that helps rejuvenate your skin and bring back that smooth, soft, youthful glow.
Microdermabrasion is a procedure that exfoliates your skin by removing the superficial layer of dry, dead skin cells. The focus of this procedure is to make your complexion more even and smooth in texture and color.
This is achieved by buffing and polishing your skin using a stream of very fine crystals or a wand with a diamond tip that gently exfoliates the surface of your skin. The process is fully non-surgical, painless, and results from the procedure are immediately noticeable.
Microdermabrasion is ideal for all skin types and colors and works wonders when used to treat dull skin, brown spots, and age spots. Due to its subtle nature and effect, it is not ideal for deeper problems such as scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, or deep acne scars.
Microdermabrasion is an in-office procedure that should take no more than an hour – about 30 - 40 minutes for the face, and 20 minutes for the neck is the norm. It is not necessary to utilize anesthesia or any numbing agents for this process. There is little to do to prepare for a microdermabrasion procedure.
Just before the procedure begins, you will need to remove any makeup and cleanse your face. You will be seated in a reclining chair, and our technician will use a handheld device to gently spray the fine crystals, sanding away the outer layer of skin in the targeted areas. At the close of the procedure, a moisturizer and sunscreen will be applied to your skin.
Microdermabrasion has practically zero downtime – you will be able to resume daily activities almost immediately (some deeper treatments may result in skin peeling in the days following treatment). Be sure to keep your skin hydrated, and only use gentle skincare products (avoiding topical acne medications for at least one day after your treatment). As your newly refreshed skin will be more sensitive to the sun for a few weeks after treatment, it is highly advised to protect your skin with sunscreen. If you have any questions about after care treatment as your SoVous Med Spa NYC microdermabrasion specialist.
There are a few different ways to perform a microdermabrasion procedure, depending on the specific device being used: Crystal Microdermabrasion: This method utilizes a crystal-emitting handpiece to gently spray on fine crystals, rubbing away outer layers of skin. Dead skin cells are suctioned off right away.
Diamond-tip Handpiece: This device is designed to gently exfoliate dead cells in your skin, while simultaneously suctioning them off. This type of microdermabrasion is typically used for more sensitive facial areas such as those closer to the eyes.
