When you arrive at SoVous Med Spa New York City for your Restylane Kysse injections, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied. Once the treatment area is numb, injections will begin.
Restylane Kysse also contains 1% lidocaine to minimize procedure discomfort, though you may experience a pinching sensation upon each injection. The number of injections needed is dependent on the area or areas being treated. Injections typically take 15-30 minutes. Once injections are complete, you will be able to immediately return to your regular daily activity.
Recovery from Restylane Kysse injections is extremely minimal, and no downtime is needed. However, you may experience bruising, swelling, redness, tenderness, or bumps around injection sites which may last up to one week. A cold compress may be used to reduce inflammation and swelling.
It is important to avoid touching the treatment area for six hours following injections. Restylane Kysse side effects are minimal. The most common side effects are associated with injection sites and include redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, itching, discoloration, firmness, or lumps and typically subside within one week of treatment. Other risks include infection, changing in skin tone, vision changes, scarring, and the unintentional injection into a blood vessel. Patients with a history of cold sores may experience a breakout following treatment. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive Restylane Kysse.

Restylane Kysse injections should not be performed in areas in which an active infection, rash, sores, hives, or cysts are present. Patients who are taking medications or supplements which may inhibit the blood’s ability to clot may be asked to temporarily halt treatment. Such substances may include St. John’s wort, Vitamin E, or aspirin. Patients undergoing treatment that may suppress the body’s immune system may be at a higher risk of infection.
