Juvederm Voluma in NYC | SoVous
SoVous Med Spa offers our patients in NYC Juvederm Voluma, as part of our Juvederm collection. Juvederm Voluma is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can add volume to the cheeks and face and refresh your look for up to 2 years.
The first FDA approved dermal filler for mid-face volumization, Juvederm Voluma has been clinically proven to last up to 2 years. It uses Vycross technology which is a method of production that combines a different molecular make-up to other more traditional dermal fillers. It blends a high and low molecular weight to increase efficiency in cross-linking HA chains. 90% of the content is low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid meaning the solution integrates fully into the skin and is more moldable to the facial contours for the most natural looking results possible. In comparison, traditional fillers are made with 100% high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid meaning they are heavier and can’t be manipulated as easily.
During Treatment
Different gauged needles will be selected for different treatment areas based on the delicacy of the skin in that area. Before your treatment with Juvederm Voluma NYC aesthetic specialists at SoVous may apply a topical anesthetic prior to injection, however, the treatment is quite tolerable on it's own due to the fact that it is infused with lidocaine powder. This has been shown to decrease patient's discomfort by 90% on it's own. Your skin will then be cleaned and prepped prior to injection. Ice may then be applied.
After Treatment
After your treatment you may experience mild tenderness and swelling that typically goes away within 24 hours. Bruising and needle marks may last a few days. Some areas are more prone to bruising than others. Certain medications and supplements may increase this risk such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, garlic, gingko. It is also advised to avoid alcohol, especially, red wine, for 1-2 days prior to your injections to decrease bruising risk. It is important to have a proper follow-up with your Juvederm Voluma injector to determine if there is any need for refinements.
Your injector will help you determine which filler is best for you, however, pregnant and lactating women should avoid it's use as it has not been studied on such populations. You should not have treatment if you have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or a history or presence of multiple severe allergies. Juvederm Voluma should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins. Juvederm Voluma XC should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to lidocaine.
