The hyaluronic acid used in Belotero gel has been specially formulated to ensure smooth, even results. It's produced using a proprietary Cohesive Polydensified Matrix, or CPM, process that turns it into a flexible, smooth gel. This gel blends safely and naturally into the skin tissue to gently, but effectively, fill in moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles. It is best described as an "air-brusher" due to it's effectiveness at smoothing away superficial lines and wrinkles where other dermal fillers may be too thick or robust.
During Treatment
Different gauged needles will be selected for different treatment areas based on the delicacy of the skin in that area. A topical anesthetic may be applied prior to injection with Belotero, however, the treatment is quite tolerable on it's own due to the fact that it may be infused with lidocaine just prior to injection. At SoVous we make every effort to deliver the best Belotero NYC has to offer. Your skin will then be cleaned and prepped prior to injection. Ice may then be applied.
After Treatment
Our New York Belotero patients may experience mild tenderness and swelling that typically goes away within 24 hours. Bruising and needle marks may last a few days. Some areas are more prone to bruising than others. Certain medications and supplements may increase this risk such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils, garlic, gingko. It is also advised to avoid alcohol, especially, red wine, for 1-2 days prior to your injections to decrease bruising risk. It is important to have a proper follow-up with your injector to determine if there is any need for refinements.
Your injector will help you determine if Belotero is right for you, however, pregnant and lactating women should avoid it's use as it has not been studied on such populations. You should not have treatment if you have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or a history or presence of multiple severe allergies. Belotero Balance should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to Gram-positive bacterial proteins. Belotero Balance should not be used in patients with a history of allergies to lidocaine as it may be mixed with this medication to alleviate discomfort during treatment.
